The appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a film of a little white semi-foamy head. Sly lace.
The aroma had some sweet and tart raspberries. Subtle grassy sweetness, light lemon rind.
The flavor was moderately sweet with a touch of tart sliding in underneath. Aftertaste was raspberries, sweet and tart. Finish was quick and mostly tart.
The palate was about light bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, as a raspberry ale, this works. Don’t think anything else and realize that’s what Bastone aimed for.
