The appearance was a dark red to almost brown color with a cap of a little white foamy head that slid off at a pretty quick pace. Sly lace.
The aroma had some earthy to grassy hop character, maybe somewhat tobacco-like flowing into some breadiness, light caramel/toffee quality and then playing with a little bit of herbal sweetness.
The flavor was moderately malty sweet intrinsically guiding the malts to be the aftertaste and quicken the finish with some dried leaves.
The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt low. ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good old ale I think I could come back to.
