Delicate and crisp, this award-winning Northern German-style Pils is alive with the sound of music. A prelude of aromatic Saaz hops gives way to subtle malt flavors, crescendoing perfectly to a lemony dry finish. Encore?

Bottle from half time. Pours gold with a white head. Pretty bready aroma. Not much hop. Medium body with mild, but chewy carbonation. Flavor is light bready with not a lot of hop - until the malt drains off, and then there is a lot of bitter. A bit peppery, so noble hop. The hop makes up for the bread.

Really clean pils. Malty grians are the main flavor and aroma profile, here. Has a rounded body due to the malts and not much in the way of a crisp hop bite. Finish is where you get the first real hop presence. Not much flavor overall, but it’s still a good beer.

Light malty hay aroma. Cloudy straw, thin head. Malt forward, good body, with a pleasantly bitter finish. Not very intense, very quaffable.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color pils with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of grassy and dry hops with solid malt backbone. Taste is dryer then I had anticipated (not that this is a bad thing) with a solid malt backbone. Body is quite full with perfect carbonation for the style. Very well done and something I would wish would be available around here.

Had this on draft at Lucky Dog during Craft Beer Week 2009. A really delicious pilsner. I was drinking mostly big beers but this guy stood out. Pale yellow in color with a slight head. Nice carbonation and a crisp flavor of bread and corn. Sharp and refreshing finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly's, 6/9/09

Aroma: Earthy nose, a nice grainy malt presence there as well
Appearance: Clear yellow color, thick and foamy white head
Flavor: Nice malty flavor, some spice, and nice hops for balance, pretty flavorful Pils
Palate: Medium body, flavor lasts pretty well
Overall Impression: A pretty good example of this style. I would venture to say one of the better Pilsener beers out there.

Draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a light amber color with a large creamy head. Good head retention and phenomenal lacing. Aroma is grassy with toasted malt notes. Taste is toasted malts, honey and strongly bitter hops. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle. Not a bad pilsener in the least. Pours a very pale yellow color with a small head. Aroma is hops, sweet malts, and a touch of bread. Flavor is bready, hoppy, and tasty. Very enjoyable and easy to drink.

Bottle. Pretty enough pour for a pilsner... clear gold, lively carbonation, big and fluffy white head. Aromas are a decent mix of grass, honey, bread and maybe a little bit of pepper. There are no big surprises in the flavor here. The stuff you smell is the stuff you taste. The only complaint that I would raise is that the sweet honey flavor seems to dominate a bit too much in the middle to late development across the palate. It doesn’t take over right away, but when it gets there it seems a little out of place and makes the beer come across as not quite crisp or refreshing enough.

Re-rate 6/14/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks kerenmk. Clear golden. Aroma of grains, a bit of grassy hops, paper and a dusty hint. Flavor has light grainy-bready malt sweetness and a finish with some decent bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. 4/3/5/3/10=2.5

(10/20/08) Bottle at Tria in Philadelphia. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, some butterscotch and hoppy hints. Sweetish malty flavor with faint diacetyl hints and a bitter hoppy finish with some grassy notes. Medium-bodied. OK. 5/3/6/3/12=2.9
