Flappers have always been a symbol of change and rebellion, harkening to a time where challenging the norm was all the rage. This beer embraces and celebrates that vibrant, relentless spirit. Representing the rebirth of a brewery and the reclamation of a dream, this beer is a completely contradictory experience where the wort is soured, the hops are minimized and the beer is filtered to be brilliant. Crisp, delicate, cutting edge, complex and tart, pouring a bright citrine with a nose of gently soured rind fruit, this beer is exactly what is needed when looking for a little something…Divergent.

Bottle shared by Willrunforbeer. Cloudy golden color, lasting white head. Aroma is sour lemons, light malted wheat. The flavor is, wheat and pale malt base with tart citrus. The finish is mildly sour in a lighter body. The carbonation is higher with a lively feel. Not bad at all.

Bottle at the RBWG 2015 Grand Tasting. Pours clear yellow with a light, white foam head. Nice tart lemon character, faintly biscuity, with notes of pale bread as well. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Clean on the finish, lightly drying, with a touch of bitter lemon rind to go along with the relaxed tartness. Overall, pretty good.

Hazy gold, short lived head, lacking effervescence. Aroma is strongly acetic, so is the flavor. Mixes balsamic vinegar with lemon juice and a hint of green apple. Some sugary sweetness rises up but not enough to balance, instead a bit cloying and then there’s a long herbal bitterness at the finish, so, am I really tasting hops? ugh. Or is that a salty mineral-iness? Curious experiment in sour, not a Berliner weisse (not rating to style anyway).

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear golden with small white head. Aroma is slightly tart, light body, low carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is slightly tart with hints of lemon. Needs more carbonation, hoped for more.
