Flappers have always been a symbol of change and rebellion, harkening to a time where challenging the norm was all the rage. This beer embraces and celebrates that vibrant, relentless spirit. Representing the rebirth of a brewery and the reclamation of a dream, this beer is a completely contradictory experience where the wort is soured, the hops are minimized and the beer is filtered to be brilliant. Crisp, delicate, cutting edge, complex and tart, pouring a bright citrine with a nose of gently soured rind fruit, this beer is exactly what is needed when looking for a little something…Divergent.

Sample at The CI as part of Ohio Brew Week. Hazy pale yellow color with a thing white head that evaporates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lacing. Tart fruit, wheat and malt in the nose. Light body with flavors of tart citrus, wheat and pale malts. The finish is mildly sour with a tart citrusy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tart, but yeasty, and otherwise not offering much excitement. Needs some depth to overcome the little bit of yeastiness. I find it a bit dark, too.

Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a yellow-gold color with a medium sized foamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was citrus, a bit farther and lemonade. The flavor was bitter and tart with faint citrus and lemonade. Medium lenght finish. Light body. Meh.

From a bottle this is a very good mild ale that is sizzly and fun. Easy going and not too bad. Very good mild tartness makes it easy to like. Mild aroma of straw in there. Yes, perhaps it seems a little watery at first but the tart sensations build thru the session. Has just a tad of dullness on the finish but overall a very good beer experience. Would like to get a case of this for myself.

Bottle at RBWG ’15 Grand Tasting @ Coppertail, thanks to whomever shared this one, 21/02/15. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is light lemon notes, straw, faint acidic tones. Taste comprises citric zing, hint of paper, lemon rind, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with a little added spritz, semi drying close with light puckerings. Ok ’Linner, a touch basic but ticks the boxes.

Clear pale yellow with nearly no head. Aroma is earthy and sour. Flavor is similar with plenty of tart dryness. Not a lot going on here beyond the tart finish. Pretty boring.

Bottle: Clear, deep gold, minimal white head. Slightly yeasty, apple aroma. Taste is mild, apple-peel, yeast... Very soft...only mildly tart. Very easygoing, almost lager-like in taste and feel....not much sharpness. Lacking in personality.

Bottle. Lightly papery lemon malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sour lactic lemon wheat malt. Light body - wheat malt aftertaste. This is a Berliner Weisse that screams for raspberry or sweet woodruff syrup to make it more drinkable.
