Otter Bright was one of the original really pale beers. ‘Bright’ made her debut in the summer of ’96 but has since earned a regular place in our full time line up. Originally designed to tempt lager drinkers from the dark-side, now a well respected trendsetter in the UK.
So what can you expect when you line up your first pint of Otter Bright. Its pale golden colour enhances the great condition of the beer. The strong, citrus fruit aroma follows through into a refreshingly fruity, tasty beer. A subtle bitterness at the end balances the sweeter notes.

Thin off white head on a clear pale lemon coloured body. Zesty citrus aroma. Medium bodied, tingly with smooth cloying back. Zesty, citrus, herbal, bitter & malt tastes with a grainy finish. Decent.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a pale straw with a small white head. Some vague floral hops in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and watery. Corn malts hit the taste buts first, but after a while some continental hops show through plus traces of oranges and peppers. There’s a slight bitterness in the finish. This is OK, but a bit nondescript.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours a straw colour with a thin white head. Faint aromas of hay, biscuits and floral. Taste has the same subtle notes from the aroma with some added citrus lemon and herbal tones. Gentle hoppy finish. Thin watery body, low carbonation with smooth gentle mouthfeel. Nothing outstanding but a simple elegant tasting ale.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Exmouth. Light gold pour with minimal head. Light malt and hoppy aroma. Light to moderate carbonation and light body. The taste is refreshing with hops and a citrus note. Cross between lager and blonde ale but pretty decent fare.
