Tap @ BBF ’08. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is very pilsner-like, grainy and malty. Flavour is very malty and rather sweet with a bitterish finish. Medium bodied. Not my kind of beer.

bottle, thanks to Bochum! Clear golden yellow, large head. Full-bodied, very malty with aromatic hops blended in. Dry in the finish. Quite a spicy beer.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass is okay - not much foam. Smells like a pilsner. Tastes very malty and sourish - not more than an average bock!

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized, blond foamy head. Sweet, citrus-fruity and slightly grainy nose with herbal and slightly grassy hoppy notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a slightly crispy carbonation. Pale malt character, soft grainy and slightly chalky taste; almost dry, bitter-sweet finish with a good dash of herbal and slightly grassy hops. Quaffable pale Bock (21.02.08).

Test vom 26.1.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,10,10,11,8,10 - 10,05

Draft. A dark yellow beer with a thin lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very malty combined with light notes of grain and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet and at the same time sparkling and fresh - one of the freshest Heller Bocks I’ve had, there is quite a lot of malt sweetness combined with light notes of grain, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

(On tap) Clear, deep golden with a small, off-white head. Sweetish malt aroma. Fairly full-bodied with a rich sweetness from the plentiful malts without ever appearing sticky. Moderately hoppy finish. A decent pale Bock. 071106
