Our decadent Oatmeal Stout lovingly aged in Bourbon barrels. Beautiful chocolate, espresso and vanilla-bourbon aromas hold your nose hostage. Rich dark chocolate truffle, bourbon and espresso create a dangerously smooth and incredibly drinkable barrel aged Oatmeal Stout. Hoarding tendencies may occur.

Rating # 2000. Bottle (2013) from IP trade with richiesd (thanks!), shared with Simon and some more @ In De Wildeman. Dark brown color, as good as opaque. Light beige head, not very long retention. Aroma from the glass is not too strong, some bourbon & vanilla. Retronasal the aroma is much stronger, whiskey-ish, bourbon, vanilla, sweet, alcohol, chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet, fruit/raisin, some alcohol. Body really is on the thin side, I can see why people here consider it watery, but it didn’t bother me too much. Alcoholfeel is rather strong, somewhat burning. Finishes with chocolate, sweetness. Not as mindblowing as Sucaba or Parabola, but nice nonetheless.

Dark black pour 2 finger bubbly espresso colored head. Smells great. Whiskey, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate. Taste is weak and so is the mouthfeel. weak, very thin and watery, chocolate and coffee but very thin body. very weird actually and I expected much more but I guess it is only 8%. not one I’d buy again

Sample at Tomahawk Warrior’s First Birthday party on 06/06/2015: Brown-black pour with a medium thick khaki head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium to full body with flavors of oaky bourbon, chocolate malt, coffee and a hint of dark fruit. The finish is boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.
