Our decadent Oatmeal Stout lovingly aged in Bourbon barrels. Beautiful chocolate, espresso and vanilla-bourbon aromas hold your nose hostage. Rich dark chocolate truffle, bourbon and espresso create a dangerously smooth and incredibly drinkable barrel aged Oatmeal Stout. Hoarding tendencies may occur.

2017 bottle. Deep brown to black, decent head of beige head. Aroma: gentle barrel, vanilla, roast, chocolate, dried fruit. Medium body. Taste: not sweet at all in fact, complex, moderate tannins and vanilla, black tea. Light bitterness. Nice balance. High class

Bourbon, oatmeal, chocolate malt, and fresh hay flavor. Dark brown with small head. Moderately sweet chocolate oatmeal malt, bourbon, and mildly bitter hay and ash flavor. Body lighter than expected. Very enjoyable - one of the best bourbon barrel aged beers I've had in a while. (courtesty of Weihenweizen - thanks).

Draught Textbook lace over the palest mahogany stout ever seen. Cookies, sweet, coloured malts, bit roast. Soft aromas, other grains, hardly any vanilla. Sweet, almondy, probably the oatmeal. Finish has a fine acidity, and a cocos flavour builds up gradually. Quite slick, going to sticky, rather well-bodied. IMO, too sweet by half.

Sampled at Ace & Kees. Dark brown with tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, hazlenut creamy, coconibs, feels bit old and brittle. Moderate sweet and bitter. Milky soft feel. Over medium body and soft carbonation. --- Beer merged from original tick of Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin on 15 Nov 2018 at 17:32 - Score: 8

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of rich bourbon, chocolate, caramel fudge, coconut, red fruit and sweet coffee, really delicious. Taste has rich caramel fudge, bourbon vanilla, oak, red fruit, sticky molasses, coconut and oat. Soft mouthfeel, long finish. So soft, elegant and flavorful, they have really mastered barrel aging. Fantastic.
