Ever get that sadness at the end of a jar of pickles and just want something good to do with the liquid gold brine left at the end? Yeah, same. So we did what any hop-fuelled maniacs would do – teamed up with the absolute pickle huns themselves, The Pickle House, to make something beautifully unhinged: Spicy Pickle Gose. This isn’t just beer. This is full-blown, briny chaos. Think spicy pickle margarita vibes with a side of smoky mezcal mischief. We’re talking citrus zing, subtle heat, a whisper of smoke, and that unmistakable salty-sour tang thanks to The Pickle House’s Bloody Mary salt and actual pickle juice. Yeah. Pickle. Juice. This is not your nan’s cucumber water. This is beer, reborn in a brine-soaked fever dream. It’s spicy. It’s sour. It’s proper pickley. And it slaps.

Taster at Brewdog Waterloo. A pale greenish yellow coloured pour with no head. Aroma is sour vinegar, acetic, nail polish remover, cucumber. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, lime, cucumber, pickle, vinegar tickle. Salt lick,. Palate is semi sweet, tangy, salty, sour, mellow carbonation. Meh. Pretty shit. No idea why you would even attempt to make this. A taster was too much.

Pale golden with a thin white head.
Nose is pickle juice, herb, straw, lemon nip.
Taste comprises herb, gherkins, straw, grains, light acidic tickle.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow puckering edge.
Does what it says on the tin but like most beers of this ilk I couldn't drink much.

Keg at Bad Waterloo. Aroma has oickle and apple vinegar. Opaque apple juice gold. Flavourwise it's sour. Some prickly, some veg. Vinous. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Not overly exciting Spur. Although my colleague who stated that she disliked beer really enjoyed this.
