Draft: Dull amber pour with a large beige head. Aroma is mild, mostly sweet and lightly fruity. Flavor is again sweet with some faint toffee, malts, and a fruity (kind of odd and artificially sweet) element. Smooth, yet seemingly disjointed.

Bottle on 11/14/2009. Clear copper amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet toasty and caramel aroma with some earthy notes. Sweet toasty and earthy malt with some caramel and tea-like notes. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Refrigerated bottle. Taste is earthy, smokey, and a little spicy hops. Pretty good and pretty easy to drink.

It pours clear copper with thin tan head. The aroma is a mix of malts, caramel, roasted malts and then rounded out by faint pine and grapefruit hops. The taste is oddly similar with malts, roasted malts and some crystal like malts mixing with faint caramel, pine hops, grapefruit hops and a moment or two of floral hops.

Chestnut color, moderate foamy head. Butterscotch, biscuity malts, mildly grainy nose. Sweetish at first but overall pretty balanced with cookiesh malts, a touch of herbal or grassy hop, a hint of anise?, balanced finish. Malts have a touch of twang in the aftertaste. Palate a little thin, but part of it is the low carbonation giving this a fairly light English ale palate. On the whole its really very boring.

Tap @ OTH. Pours amber with white head. Aroma / taste, light hops with malty caramel / chocolate notes. Drinkable but nothing memorable.

Bottle from John’s Marketplace in Portland, OR. Dark amber color with a decent off-white head. Aroma is slightly roasted caramel over some sort of hoppiness. Medium body with coarse, fizzy carbonation. Flavor is somewhat bready caramel with very mild hop spiciness. Finish is a contrast of harsh roasted malt and spicy hop. Good drink, but a bit less than overwhelmingly tasty.

12 oz bottle...cloudy golden-copper...little beige head...smells like Heineken on steroids...on a further sniff+ swirl malts surface, pretty plain...wow tastes like candy on the first sip--strawberry pop rocks or something, but not all sweet like a fruit beer, its mixed with a beer, slight bitter finish, good...better than I thought, but still not an every day...body is pretty light, but not watery...speckled loose lacing

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Orange/amber body, thick dense buff head that leaves excellent lacing. Aroma of toast and alcohol, rather indistinct at such a cold serving temperature. The body is quite sweet, featuring breads, unfermented sugars, and lingering, light earthy hops notes. Features a touch of prickly alcohol heat. A somewhat unsophisticated medley of cloying sweetness and leafy hops.

bottle - Pours light amber with a medium sized head. The aroma is lightly roasted malts with a touch of citrus. The flavor is pretty sweet with a little bit of hops in the background and some alcohol flavor coming through. The body is somewhat thinner than I would have liked though what we end up with is an easy drinking beer for the alcohol content. Decent.
