Leagues Below is a deceptively light-bodied Belgian-style Stout, despite its impenetrable black color. We used a Belgian yeast strain combined with a traditional malt bill and a flash of American hops. Underneath its coffee-colored head are notes of burnt sugar, espresso roast, cherry, and a hint of spice. Its velvety profile quickly fades into a snappy finish, inviting further exploration.
Just below the surface, colors fade as we sink into the formless deep. Directionless as the space between the stars, but even more adrift without their pinpoint guidance. Our armor braces the unfathomable dark, where shadows press against its veil and currents swirl from unseen passengers. Tethered to the light, we drift into the eye of some netherworld, puncturing the silence with the blade of our compass.

Half pour at Tewksbury. Opaque black, ample head with excellent retention and tons of lacing. Aroma is strong burnt sugar, toffee. Taste is strong burnt sugar, toffee. Smooth creamy texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste.

Pours a dark, reddish-brown, with small tan head. Aroma is roasted grain, chocolate, some dark fruit, caramel. Flavors follow. Very smooth mouthfeel. Really tasty stout variant.
