Bottle to snifter. Chocolate, molasses, tar and alcohol combine well. Opaque with massive dark brown head that is full and lingers around the edges with slight clinging down the sides. Oily. Taste is chocolate and moderate alcohol warmth. Body is moderate, perhaps a little thin. Moderate low roast balances well. The spices come out long after the taste is finished.

Pitch black, oily and almost no head. Nose is sweet with bits of baker’s chocolate and a ton of spices. Just loads of spicy cinnamon, cardamon and cloves. Thick but not oily. man, there’s just too much of some spice maybe too much nutmeg and cinnamon? It’s intensely spicy. no thanks.

Pours dark brown/black color with light brown head. Aromas of roasted malts and chocolate with some spices. Burnt malt flavor with some coffee and spices. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation. Not as good as the regular.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a dark tan head. Lots of chocolate and maybe a little chili in the aroma. Full bodied. For me it starts chocolate with chili, and then some earthy coffee shows up. Nice balance in flavors. Definitely warming from spice. Trying hard to find heat, but not sure I can. Good brew.

12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Black with almost a finger of tan head. Aromas of spices, mint, ginger, roast, subtle chocolate. Tastes of spices, mint, dark chocolate, bitter roasty notes. Medium-full body with a dry and warm finish. Kind of like a spiced mint dark chocolate.

Bottle @ home. Christmas Eve 2014 with jcnielsen. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. In the aroma is some ginger/allspice, chamomile, dark chocolate, and coffee. A little minty with some ginger/spicy weed notes in the flavor with some dark chocolate. Kind of floral. Pretty high spiciness. I’m not a huge fan.

Paid $9.59 for a 12 oz. bottle, glad to have tried it but at this price point, one and done. Pitch black pour without much head to speak of. Aroma is deep charred malt, chocolate, mild espresso bean and holiday spice underneath it all.

The flavor starts with the sweeter chocolate and coffee and turns into the above mention spice, cinnamon sticks out the most to me. The backbone is a solid amount malt and dark fruit notes with the spice helping to balance the brew, fuller in body and is what I look for in the style. With that said, this costs as much as BCBS, for the money I would rather just drink Bourbon County.

Bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out loads of spices, along with roasted malt. Flavour is incredibly spicy, with loads of ginger and chili pepper, amongst other weird things. Quite roasty along with the spice. Way worse than regular Bomb - way too spicy in a bad way. Not so good.

Hops Hill, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is chocolate, chilly, spice, roast, milky coffee. Taste has more chilly than I expected (the bar tender told me to expect less). Loads of chocolate fudge, with similar consistency. The creamy mouthfeel was really one of the best parts of this beer. Yet, as creamy and thick as it was, it was not too much. Nor was it cloying and sweet. The spices cut in, but they were not as prominent as I was led to expect.
