Given how close it is to Christmas, I thought it a good time to try this offering from Prairie. I got this squatty 12 oz bottle from the Cellar in Odessa, TX, good show. Using my New Belgium snifter tonight, the pour is Hades black with a strong chocolate, hay and malt nose. A drink, ah yes, very unique, cinnamon assuredly, milk chocolate, ribbon candy, dark fruit, a little heat during and after. A good winter's drink, I like the straightforwardness of Prairie Bomb a bit more.

Bottle - viscous black pour - smells of cinnamon, allspice, chocolate, anise, espresso - slick mouthfeel - bittersweet but not overly sweet, with dangerously masked alcohol - flavors of chocolate, pepper, cardamom, cinnamon - finish of pastry dough, chocolate, raspberry - quite good.

Bomb with a face punch of cinnamon. I checked my previous check-ins and would just like to memorate the good friends that stick with me through my worst of times. Christmas in Miami right now.

Pours a near black from a bottle with a thick khaki head, dissipates. Smell is a spiced chocolate, I'm picking up on cinnamon, nutmeg, and something anise-y. Flavor is similar, a bit of heat to it, not sure if from cinnamon or alcohol. This tastes like an Italian spiced chocolate cookie. Pretty good beer.

Pours a thick, oily black, with small, tan head. Aroma has cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavor has chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla. The flavor is very smooth with just the slightest hint of an alcohol burn in the finish. This is a very tasty stout that only gets better as it warms.
