Kicking back and relaxing with a session beer requires little more than a couch, some free time, and a few pals. Slow Ride Session IPA is up for this easy-going challenge, starting with a pour of sheened gold and plenty of fluffy, white foam. A blend of seven hop varieties, led by exotic Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin, twist together brilliant tropical scents of melon, peach, lime and grapefruit for a vividly fruity aroma. The flavor mirrors the aroma, while balancing a malty-sweet yet clean start and hoppy bitterness in the back. Light bodied and extra quaffable, Slow Ride Session IPA brings the finish line to you.

From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of orange and peach. Refreshingly bitter finish.

Crisp, copper coloured body with a really large, four centimetre tall off-white head - nice. Aroma of bright hops, pine and some tropical fruits with very light malt and a touch of grass. Light-bodied; Strong hoppy and grassy notes at first that fade to a very cereal and cardboardie flavour showing some very funky and/or stale malts. Aftertaste shows a little grass, tropical fruits and even a little of the malt. Overall, a decent Light IPA with some good flavours, but as the tastes come on, it mellows out a bit and shows its very large limitations. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Arlington (South Glebe Road), Virginia on 14-February-2015 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 02-April-2015.

On tap at Macs. Pours a clear amber orange with a an off white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has notes of grass and earthy pine with sweet grains and biscuit underlying. Flavor has sweet grass and a bit of bitter citrus backed by bread and biscuit.

Can - clear medium gold - fluffy lace - nose is mostly the Nelson and mosaic - white grape, lime zest, a bit if pepper, peach - flavor has some Biscuity malt up front - fairly clean, but a faint bit of huskiness on the back end - moderate acidity - despite the complex hop bill, there is not a lot of complex hop flavor going on - just moderate bitterness, a bit of pepper, maybe a hint of citrus and garlic - it’s crisp and refreshing enough, but not something I’ll be reaching for again.

Bottle with thanks to Brian! Pours crystal clear golden orange with a medium off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving nice residual and decent lacing. Aroma is dank and herbal, tropical, passion fruit and guava. Flavor is very light sweet, light bitter, fruity and tropical, not harsh. Light body and highly drinkable. Good example of the style!

Orange and rosehip aroma. Crystal clear amber, thick head. Lilly flavor, juicy orange finish. Light body easy carbonation. An interpretation of the style that apparently is prevailing: thin and hoppy. It’s clean and tasty, though.

Draft pour. Pours a clear gold color with a ton of lace. Big piney hop aroma. Flavor is a lot of pine as well. Grassy, and a little bready. Decent session beer here.

Bottle. A- Dank, wet hops, citrus, piney, floral. A- Golden orange color, clear liquid, white head. T- Bitter hops, citrus, pine, dank, soda water. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, piney finish. O- Alright. Was hoping for a lot more juicy citrus from the Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops but they were pretty mellow. Lots of dank weed aroma and somewhat of a similar taste. Didn’t expect much and that’s about where it left me.
