Kicking back and relaxing with a session beer requires little more than a couch, some free time, and a few pals. Slow Ride Session IPA is up for this easy-going challenge, starting with a pour of sheened gold and plenty of fluffy, white foam. A blend of seven hop varieties, led by exotic Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin, twist together brilliant tropical scents of melon, peach, lime and grapefruit for a vividly fruity aroma. The flavor mirrors the aroma, while balancing a malty-sweet yet clean start and hoppy bitterness in the back. Light bodied and extra quaffable, Slow Ride Session IPA brings the finish line to you.

Bottle served in a pint glass. Pouring a crystal clear copper-gold with a thick creamy head of foam. The nose is herbacious piney HOPS - reminds me of holding a handful of hop pellets. Med-full bodied with a soft texture. I don’t really get much Sauvin or Mosaic out of this more your classic West Coast C-hops. The taste is wheat crackers & green herbal (mint?) piney hops with a bit of a bitter bite in the finish. I could totally see myself picking up a 6-pack of this on a sunny day... alas whatever price it’d be in Japan would be prohibitive (1000 yen for a sixer like in the States and I’m sold, 3000 yen + not so much but it is nice)

12 oz.bottle into a tulip best by 08/09/2015 A: Very cold pour results in little head and little lace left. Very clear burnished gold S: Very fruity. Tropical with a hint of pine. Fairly light scent. Peachy. T: More pine in the taste with citrus and peach following. A slight hit of toast. Very good. M: Light body and average amount of carbonation. Clean finishing and refreshing. O: One of the cheapest most widely available AND best tasting session ales I know. Hard to beat.

Golden color. Hoppy light nose with lots of tropical fruit. Light body, modest hoppiness. Dry. Balanced. Modest bitter finish.

Bottle. Lightly hazy, light herbal hop nose, but kind of clipped by pasteurization. Light bittnerness and a slighyty woody, vaguely citrusy hop. Fairly thin...a hoppy amber.

Draft at Angelo Caputo’s, Downers Grove. Good foamy head, not normal for most IPAs. Body tends toward amber, with a light haze. A citrusy hop nose that carries straight through to the taste buds. Mostly orange, bit also with a note of pineapple. A solid hop bitterness does become more obvious the deeper I go into the glass. Seems more heavy than the Session IPA it aspires to be, enough to slow one down on this hot day. But still very enjoyable.

On tap. Dry hop aroma. Some malt body, a little ash and a dry finish. Flavor seems dull after the Fresh Squeezed i just had. Bitter aftertaste.

Can. Smells like floral ipa hops, no BO here. Fairly clear pale yellah. First taste is big strong quick kick in the palate. Yes, foully on target for its style. An ipa without a alky punch but seems like its there. Coarse at times, like any other good ipa. Tolerable.

1st June 2015: 12oz bottle in the sun. hazy old gold pour with a fluffy white topping. Hoppy and bitter, good depth of flavour for an American 4.5% ABV beer. Aromatic hops give an interesting mixed bag of exotic fruit esters, which fill the nose. The taste is again hop centric, but bitter more than fruity: the malt content happy just to calm everything down without really showing their sweetness. A very pleasant beer all round.

Draft. Nice enough Session IPA. Clean dry cracker malts, fresh bright citrus hops. A bit on the thin side, as are most in the style.
