This hop-forward beer combines the intense aromatics of an American IPA with the crisp drinkability of a German-inspired lager. Originally brewed as part of our first Beer Camp Across America pack, this beer features bold grapefruit and floral hop notes accentuated by the light body of a classic blonde lager.

Bottle from Mitsuya’s. Poured into an English tulip. Clear gold with a small white head that dissipates rather quickly. Grapefruit, peach and melon on the nose with a bit of pine as well. Nice malt backbone with the hops really shining. The stone fruit really stands out (some cherry as well). Slightly sweet and bitter on the palate. With a drying bitter finish.

Bottle. Deep gold, with a big, white, head and plenty of fizz. Orange and booze aroma. Big green herb flavours, blood oranges, a hint of baked bean and a dry finish. Enjoyable and original.

Gold color, nice white head. Well carbonated. Dry malt flavor. Hops in the aroma, grass, plants, I would guess noble hops but I’m not sure of that. Flavor stays dry and bitter. You know its not a Czech pils, but this is a good yellow lager. I didn’t realize the abv was so high.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2015. Deep gold, clear, with lace. Citrus nose, some caramel. A bit sweet and caramelly, citrus, orange, peaches. Ale-like, sweet, and a bit too much. I was expecting a lot, but the Nooner pils I had with it made this hard to drink.

Bottle courtesy of fiulijn (thanks Alex), pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fairly restrained, with crisp crackery malt, cereal, not really much hops. Flavour is bright and refreshing, sort of tasting German-esque, with cereal malts, crisp crackery malt, bready notes and lovely subtle piney hop finish. Crisp, refreshing, well-balanced and easy to drink. Very well done.

Bottle, drunk February 2015
Bright golden-blonde colored body is clear, full of carbonation and topped by a fluffy, well-retained white head.
Punchy, very aggressive hops in the nose give off (to be honest) mostly resin. Pine, bitter grapefruit, salt, very spicy, dry herbs. Bit of b vitamin and a touch of alcohol to round it out.
Flavor is overly bitter, acidic, resinous. Mixing with either b vitamin or some type of caramunich-like malt, it grows strongly sour on the finish. Alcohol and heavy pine resin....oh joy. The carbonation level is at least high, helping to allay all of this, but it certainly can’t in the end, and it’s just too much. Medium to medium-full body, not so much sugary as it is sticky and thick. Way over-the-top here. Much like torpedo.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear golden orange, small off-white head, dissipates fairly slowly, good lacing. Aroma is pine, grain, grapefruit. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, cereal grains and pine/citrus hops. Light body, easy drinking which belies the 7%.
