This hop-forward beer combines the intense aromatics of an American IPA with the crisp drinkability of a German-inspired lager. Originally brewed as part of our first Beer Camp Across America pack, this beer features bold grapefruit and floral hop notes accentuated by the light body of a classic blonde lager.

Bottle - Fresh grapefruit zest. Clear gold with a decent white head. Nice grapefruit, light bitter kick, light malts and a clean finish. Pretty nice.

35 cl bottle in NY, 7%, 55 IBU. Clear golden color, big white head. Aoma is malty, lots of syrupy lager malts, malt extract and cookies backed by a strong floral hops layer. Taste is malty-sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is full, texture is very thick and dense, sticky lagery finish. Always wondered what an IPA-style lager would end up in, this is a nice attempt. I believe it doesnโt do the big deal, feels โstrangeโ but interesting.

So, this company is the west coast Saranac. So many one offs you canโt figger. For example, this one said Sierra Nevada Beer Camp India Pale Lager on the bocktown draft beer menu so Iโm going on the edge listing it here. Fruity disposition on the nose. One of the better lagers I ever smelled. Looks like pale lager. Yes, hoppy lager fer sure. Wew, did I say hoppy, forget around all the hop noise. Not much co2. If you want an IPA, which this is, why not make one,, why ruin a lager, heheh. IPA would taste the same as this hoppy BS. IPA, the new taste of beer. Not impressed, but neither are IPA lovers when they taste a good lager.

Bottle from BC Liquors, Vancouver
Golden color, bright, clean, with large head, and fine perlage. A Germanesque aroma of malt develops in the large wine glass, deep, with breadcrust and sundried cereals. Smooth mouthfeel; it has some residual sugars; very good malt flavor, lightly biscuity; strong bitterness, with plenty of herbaceous resins. Very solid.
Excellent.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a huge cream orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was leafy, piney, fruity and had a tangy and sweet undertone. The flavor was sweet and tangy, leafy and fruity hops followed by grapefruit, perfume and floral hop. Nice hop complexity. Long sweet and tangy mixed hop finish. Moderately full bodied. Well done.

Bottle: Drank out of the bottle as a good lager should be. Aroma was nice fresh citrus hops. Taste was a mix of citrus hops and soft malt backbone.

Bottle. Pours bright golden with large spongy whitish head, doughy aroma with a hint of honey, medium carbonation, faintly hoppy taste, medium finish. Not bad but not spectacular either.

Pours medium gold with a whitehead. Citrus light malt resinous hops in the aroma. Medium thin crispy body. Flavor is very clean. The hoppy notes are much more citrus and Pine oriented. Finishes very bitter much like a hoppy pale ale. Pretty clean overall, rather bitter; pretty dang good.
