Bottle at Nick's. Pours deep brown, nose is vanilla, coconut, chocolate cake, taste is similar, rich, chewy, bitter.

Aging great, plenty of sweet barrel aged malt and vanilla notes. Was an easy start to the day.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of sweet black chocolate notes with some strong vanilla notes. Taste is also a mix of string sweet black chocolate notes with some dominant large vanilla extract notes with a sweet finish. Body is full with oily like texture with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. A bit too sweet and cloying for my taste.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium brown head. Looks better than the other Eclipses I’ve seen/had. Aroma has a huge vanilla bomb right from the start. Vanilla icecream, chocolate icecream, dark rich chocolate, bourbon fudge. Candy-like bomb. Taste has the some huge amount of vanilla, fudge, light roast, chocolate icecream and a slight malty finish. Nice. Just a tad thin.

Such a solid beer, and so many variants. A tickers dream. As all, this one is smooth, soft and boozy. Nicely honeyed, good thickness. Vanilla shines through nicely here, really adds something to the base. Aged well.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver; tagged V/1, vintage 2016
Black colour, with brown head. Vanilla aroma with dark chocolate, tobacco. Rich dark chocolate flavour, vanilla, moderately sweet, a touch of tobacco and marzipan, can't even feel the alcohol.
Wonderful beer, still overpriced.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out lots of vanilla beans upfront, with medium roast, fermented out honey, and some whiskey barrels. Flavour is quite sweet, with lots of honey and vanilla upfront, followed by plenty of whiskey barrels, and gentle coffee character. Sweet, honey-ish and vanilla-dominated finish. Excellent.
