The 4th of July has special significance for Hoster. It was the day that our founder, Louis Hoster, first arrived in, and fell in love with, Columbus, Ohio. He happened to be passing through in 1833 and was so taken with the city, its patriotic celebration, its people and culture, that he decided this was where he wanted to build his brewery - which he did three years later in 1836. And the rest, as they say, is history!
With the release of our re-imagined Banner Brew Blonde Ale, we celebrate the birth of our country and the birth of our brewery! An easy drinking ale, with 11% wheat to make it light and crisp – perfect for summer sipping!

Sample at Barley Hopsters. Clear golden color with a medium thin white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of fruit, malt and faint floral hops. Light-boded with flavors of floral hops, roast malt and fruit. The finish is clean and fruity with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
