Can from Beverage Warehouse, Winooski. Lightly murky, dark amber, nice sparkle, thin head w/poor retention, light lacing. Aroma is strong caramel and toffee. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Straightforward Scotch Ale with good strength.

Appearance: dark red/amber to mahogany color with subtle transparency along the sides of the glass and a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head with subtle noticeably larger bubbles inside the foam. Delicately dissipated to leave some concave lace
Aroma: earthy to peaty to subtle dried grassy tones, light wood smoke, caramel/toffee malts, some dark fruits then a dose of some cherry sweetness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas nice and semi-sweet with a mellow woody toned to earthy backing; finishes semi-earthy, dark fruity and some cherries
Texture: light to medium bodied, seems to be leaning towards the sipping side; pretty smooth along the tongue, nothing distracting or tongue coating
Overall: I'd say this was a pretty nicely done Wee Heavy/Scotch ale I would welcome again.
