Little aroma, maybe orange and caramel. Clear amber, thin head, fair lacing. Dried leaves, overripe orange, slightly vegetal. Medium body. moderate carbonation.

Keg at Magnolias Purcellville. Clear copper thin creamy tan good. Citrus tropical hop. Crackery malt Tropical piney citrus hop. Medium bodied lingering bitterness.

Draft at Magnolias. Clear deep golden amber color, tan head with solid lacing. Aroma of hay and straw. Taste is slightly peppery, slightly boozy, slightly bready straw. Decent body, moderately bitter.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a hazy brown color with a small off-white head. Touch bitter orange rind in there, bitter hop character. Interesting. Much more like a pale ale than an ipa, despite the abv. Would love some more floral character, I’m sure there’s some kind of hop varietal that was popular in the 90s...

Taste of the 1990s to be sure. Reminds me of the varieties used by Bardo’s in D.C. Hops are straight bitter without a ton of flavor. Some citrus peel if anything. Amber pour without much head or lacing. I guess there’s a reason these hop varieties are ignored these days. Quite bitter. Tap at brewpub.
