Solid oatmeal stout. I had this inadvisably after a long night of drinking other non beer nerd stuff but it was still refreshingly good despite what it likely added to my hangover. Roast and oatmeal with some honey. Fairly dry with sharp dark chocolate. Black pour with good head and lacing. Bitter end. Tap at All Souls Bar in DC.

Draft pour at Great Lakes Brewing. Poured a nearly pitch black, brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was creamy grains, this one was seriously roasted. Bakers Chocolate, slightly earthy. Really nice.

Bottle. Chocolate, oat malt, and dry hay aroma. Black with nice brown head. Moderately sweet chocolate syrup, light oat malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Okay body. Taste a bit disappointing.

Dark brown coloured body with a thinnish and very fast-dying tan head. Aroma of lactose, raisins, plums roasted malt and a touch of caster sugar. Light to Medium-bodied; Very mild flavours with malt, lactose and raisins by far the strongest, without the body or the punch of oatmeal at all - this is all lighter malt with a touch of caster sugar and raisins. Aftertaste shows a little grain, some sugars and leftover lactose, but that’s it - no body, no depth and no real complexity. Overall, a decent beer at best and one that isn’t so good for the style - pretty poor actually, which is surprising for the brewery. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 10-December-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Dearborn, Michigan a day later on 11-December-2016.

Overall best of the bunch at madmex. Big & black. Friendly attractive roasty aroma. Taste is mild, friendly and tasty. Calm, civilized. Like this. Yes, an easy toget into brew. Very good feel on this. Fun all round. Well bablanced stout fer sure. Good job GL. Really grows on ya.
