Coffee, roast beef, soil nose. Cola black, medium tan head. Very dry, wormwood, coffee. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Surprisingly rough texture for the style.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Near black, medium sized fizzy brown head, fair retention. Aroma of oats, roasted malt, nuts. The taste is roasted malt, oats, nuts, mild hints of coffee, ash. Thin-medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Nice beer.

On tap at Slash Run in DC, pours a murky black with some tight, tan head. Solid nose, malt, light molasses, chewy grains, toast, light coffee, a little chocolate syrupy. Flavor follows right along with the chocolate and bread, toast, lightly nutty, a tiny bit of umami, some chewy oats there. Finishes creamy but also dry. Very nice.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent brown color with reddish highlights. Small creamy khaki colored head. Roasted malt aroma has coffeeish notes. Sweet roasted malt flavor with more coffee and dark fruit notes. Sweet and flavorful with a slight hint of smokiness.

12 oz bottle poured into a nonic pint glass. Enjoy by date of 1/31/2016. Dark brownish cola color with a finger of light tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasty notes, oats, a little raisin. Tastes of dark chocolate, oats, roasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Nice oatmeal stout.
