This Belgian Dubbel is founded in the traditional Trappist style with a contemporary secular craft approach- maybe a bit more hedonistic- rich & bready with dark fruits & a hints of pepper.
We are not monks at Basic City Beer Co. so we didn't borrow the character verbatim. Ora et Labora- "Pray & Work" is the their mantra. (We are, however, as focussed as monks when brewing and as happy when drinking.)
This beer is called Amora et Labora- "Love & Labor" because it doesn't feel like work when you love what you do & enjoy the "dark" fruits of your labor.

After a mixup I am re-rating this. On tap at Sedona. Pours reddish brown with a small offwhite head. Flavor is cherry cordial, grasses, paper. Smooth.
