A far cry from modern spiced pumpkin ales, our Harvest Ale hearkens back to when good quality barley malt in America was hard to come by and our forefathers often found more creative forms of fermentable sugars. This year almost two hundred pounds of fresh Virginia pumpkins from nearby Carter Mountain Orchard were guttedm roasted, and added to the Pale barley malt mash for this truly unique Virginia ale.

Deeper coppery amber, no head. Smells of an icky rotten substance, along with some beerish malts. Tastes like someone poured beer (any macro will do) into a pumpkin and then into a glass and served it up. Bitter, unfavorful, no spice whatsoever. Nothing to have more than once.
