Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown in color with a less than a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated inward and left some light concave lace
Aroma: sweet, floral and spicy notes of the rye nip at the pumpernickel bready tones and a light honey balances underneath
Flavor: blends all the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to spicy to subtle tart and sour quality; finishes semi-tart and a light spicy tone
Texture: light to medium bodied, despite the ABV - I believe this is quite the little sipper actually (I guess there's just too much going on with this to make this a sessionable beer) as the tart and sour character seems to add it's own harsh qualities to the tongue
Overall: man oh man - what a beer! So much going on with it, I wish I could get it again.
