’Tis the Season for Cheer.

Happy Holidays from the "Little Brewery" in Shiner, TX. We hope you enjoy your Shiner Cheer, an Old World Dunkelweizen brewed with Texas peaches and roasted pecans. The malty flavors of this dark wheat ale are enhanced through the use of malted barley and wheat. And Kräusening ensures a smoothness that makes the subtle peach and pecan flavors all the more satisfying. May your days be merry and bright and your Shiner be cold.

Dark copper, not much head, medium body. Sweetish aroma, sweet peach taste up front with a discordant medium bitter finish. A failed attempt, the fruity notes were not great and the clash of flavors disappointing.

12oz bottle from Wegmans, Buffalo, NY. A clear reddish copper pour with a tight cream head; peachy aroma; sweet peach taste, with perhaps a hint of pecan; and then nothing much to finish. I like peach beers, so I’m OK with this, but I can see why others might dislike it.

Dunkelweizen? Hmmmm....mostly sweet tree fruit, pecans barely noticeable. Decent head, light weight body and mouthfeel. Nothing memorable here, trying to place peaches in the realm of winter seasonal flavors, doesn’t work...

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Aroma is nice peach, medium body, low carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is peach, pecan, and some bananas. The flavors compete a little for me, but still pretty good.

Bottle. Aroma has an interesting combo of peach and caramel. Taste is fruity, malty, light spice. Different than your usual holiday beer, a welcomed change of pace.

Dark in the glass with a beige head. The nose is smooth and sweet. The beer starts very fruity and smooth. Lots of peaches here, a bit sticky and sweet. The pecan nuts are very subtle in the dry malt tastable, smooth and easy to drink. The aftertaste is long, peaches, dry malt, nice sweetness.
A nice easy to drink beer which I think will fit perfect to a christmas-dinner. But for me it is a bit too sweet and sticky. --> 10/12/10/10
