Draft. Hazy maroon color, off white head. Aroma is grapefruit on a background of very roasty coffee grounds. Taste is equally roasty with a bit of bitter lemon. Very tasty.

4oz pour at the Northern Virginia BrewFest. Poured a very dark brown color, almost black with a tan head. Aroma was some dark bitter roasted malts, with a touch of coffee. Favor had a lot of roast, not as much hop as I was hoping for, but at least it wasn’t an earthy hop mess that most Black IPAs can be. Some light citrus notes that were pleasing. Tasty.

From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark cola brown with a tan head. Grassy nose. Flavors of nuts, licorice and pine resin. Plenty of sweet malt notes. Tasty.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear dark red color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of citrus hops, roasted malts and an earthy note. The taste is citrus and herbal hops, caramel, nuts and roasted. Medium bodied. Nice.
