Red Pirate Roberts is our Irish Red Ale. It’s so drinkable that some might say it’s “inconceivable!” It’s beaten Giant’s and bested Spaniards. This malty beer starts slightly sweet with hints of caramel, and finishes nice and dry with a slight roast. Best of all it’s iocane powder free!

On tap at McGillicuddy's, Essex Junction, VT.
Appearance: dark red in color with a thin bar pour's kind of slim white foamy head which slid off nicely. Barely any lace.
Aroma: subtle roasty notes, herbal scents, some biscuits, light grassy/earthy hops and touch of caramel/toffee malts
Flavor: brings the prior noted aromas together to a fine earthy to grassy sweet tone; mild finish of herbal/earthy/grassy qualities
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; fairly clean and smooth along the tongue
Overall: pretty good Irish red ale I'd have again and the second one of these went well with my Philly cheese steak that day.
