At 17.1% ABV, this ale is a force. We used rice, not syrup, to achieve a bone-dry finish. This austerity lets the complex, spicy, and pear-like yeast character—reminiscent of the great Belgian Trappist ales—shine through.

2025 batch. One could advocate for this beer to establish a new style—quintuple strong light ale. All joking aside, I’ve not had another beer with this beer’s combination of characteristics. Color is light orange-gold. ABV of 17.1 far surpasses that of any quadruple I’ve sampled. And it’s almost dangerous how the ABV doesn’t kick you in the face! You don’t feel the 17.1% ABV until you’ve finished the bottle.

Capped 12 oz. from Tavour. Pours clear bright gold with a slight, transient white head. Aroma is spicy and malty. Med plus body. Very dry. Slightly "slick". Heat is very present, but not burning. Flavor is yeast/spice/malt and the indication of pear in the description seems reasonable. Very good, though a bit daunting.
