Twelve months ago we set out to brew a big, thick, sweet stout with the sole intention of ageing in bourbon barrels we had arriving (a mixture of George Dickel, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and others). It hasn’t disappointed! If you like your stouts with plenty of barrel pick up and residual sweetness, this one’s for you.

Tap@Taphouse Siren TTO, Copenhagen - pours dark brown verging black with a beige covering. Sweet and only light roasted malty aroma and taste with chocolate, coffee, some honey and caramel sweetness, some vanilla and spices, resonating bourbon notes throughout and into the close.

Road soda thanks to kermis. Black with beige head. Lots of vanilla, milk chocolate, bourbon, fudge, toffee, chocate chip cookies. Very sweet with lots of lactose and milk chocolate and under medium bitterness. Full bodied. It’s nice but a bit to much lactose maybe...

dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of milk chocolate, chocolate liqueur, slight vanilla, burnt coconut and maybe walnut liqueur notes; taste of syrupy sweetness, chocolate liqueur, some whisky, coffe, vanilla...and...tons of syrupy-sugary sweetness again...would be a perfect imperial stout with a bit less sweetness - it is quite unbalancedly sweet as it is now

Draught, Siren tap takeover (no. 52) at Taphouse. Pitch black body, bubbles to the rim of the surface, clingy lacing. Chocolate and cocoa nose, sweet. Vanilla chocolate flavour with a bourbon touch. Sweet malty ending - decent just a tad too sweet in the long run. (Copenhagen 11.05.2017).
