Twelve months ago we set out to brew a big, thick, sweet stout with the sole intention of ageing in bourbon barrels we had arriving (a mixture of George Dickel, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and others). It hasn’t disappointed! If you like your stouts with plenty of barrel pick up and residual sweetness, this one’s for you.

Keg at ecbf 2017. Pours black, nose is bourbon, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, taste is similar, rich, chewy, caramel.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 010317, batch#543. Brune foncée, col crémeux café au lait, doré au verre. Arôme marqué de Bourbon avec de belles effluves de vanille et un petit rétro-nasal qui augure des touches de lactose. Biscuité et finement grillé. Palais est malté, caramel, Bourbon bien là, sans être surfait, mais le coté lactose arrive de suite et donne cet effet habituel un peu lactique. Retrouve également des pointes de fruits noirs, café, le tout collant aux lèvres, un peu trop sucré.

bottle at beerlovers bar. Pours black, small grey head. Smell is roasted, oak, chocolate, creamy. No real hops or yeast. Taste is very full ! chocolate, oak, bourbon, roasty. Mild vanilla. Very nice mouthfeel and very nice carbonation. No yeast or hops in both taste and scent, but for this kind of beer, that’s a good thing ! I liked this one a lot.

Draught @ Taphouse. Pours black with a brown head, lacings. Aroma of sweet malt, brown sugar, honey, vanilla, lactose, light bourbon. Flavor is sweet, rich malty, caramel, honey, vanilla, light sweet bourbon. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, sweet finish with warming alcohol. 120517

Tap @Taphouse. Black, light tan froth. Chocolate and light bourbon aroma, vanilla notes. Huge, fluffy mouthfeel, milk shake! Flavour has sweet vanilla, choc, cocoa and bourbon. Light, lasting boozy tingle.
