Creamy off white head stayed on a copper coloured body. Caramel, toffee & tea aroma. Medium bodied, smooth creamy & cloying. Ginger, coriander, toffee, raisin & orange tastes. Very interesting - Nice.

Bottle from the Lake District, thanks to Kevin. A chestnut/amber coloured pour with a healthy off white coloured head on top. Fruity, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes the same, fruity, malty, caramel. Easy drinking bitter, pleasant.

Bottle from the Watermill Inn. Appearance - deep copper to red. Thin head. Nose - oranges and cake. Honey. Taste - oranges and honey again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a round tangy texture. Fairly dry sweet/tangy finish. Overall - interesting though could be a bit fresher on the finish.

On cask at the Watermill in Ings. Appearance - golden amber with a nice creamy head. Nose - biscuits and hay. Taste - toffee, more hay, malt bag. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - solid bitter.

[ As Watermill A Winters Tail ].Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, light to moderate hoppy, flowers, perfume. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, perfume, sweet malt, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140315]
