A black beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma has liquorice, roastness, light caramel and salt liquorice, also some peat. Taste has more barreling, peat, salt liquorice, roastiness. Almost full bodied, not stickyness. The barreling is balanced, very good.

Bottle thanks to Stuu. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, leather and faint whisky. For 5 years in a peated whisky barrel you'd expect a bit more smoke and iodine. Taste has a hint. Dark chocolate and roast. Light seaweed.

Bottle thanks to Stuu.
Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Thin beige head.
Nose - faint iodine and wood barrel note but with not much of the expected Islay peat smoke.
Taste - saline again, and now some peat with chocolate and dry wood.
Palate - medium to full bodied, dry roast and woody finish.
Overall - good if not as smoky as expected.
