Pint at the brewpub. Pours black, with a big, foamy, beige head. The nose is mellow coffee, toast, hay, and chicory. Sweet and malty, with a mild, burnt bitterness. Simple and solid.

Draft at the source. Clear maroon color, beige head with solic lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste is dry cocoa. OK.

on nitro-tight retaining lt brown-black. A-roasty/cocoa-dk malt, some earthy. T-coffee/roasty/cocoa-dk malt, some earthy hops. Med/full body.
