The Dolle has been experimenting a lot with their old Dulle Teve tripel in recent years, but this one seems to stand out a bit, as it is a blend of Dulle Teve with a grape peel lambic blend produced by Pellicle. Only a couple of hundred bottles were made apparently and I got really lucky yesterday at the brewery's Oerbar, because there are not many left anymore... Medium sized, moussey, fine-bubbled, off-white head slowly diminishing and eventually gone, hazy beige-tinged apricot blonde robe. Alluring bouquet of indeed white grape (though not too dominant - only grape skins were used and not whole fruit), unripe orange, dried savory, green kiwi, a hint of melon, spice bread, damp straw, peach, rosemary, brandy, hints of sweat, abbey cheese rind, damp cellar and wet earth. Very fruity in the mouth, 'grapey' for sure but integrated into the Dulle Teve's natural fruitiness of ripe apricot, orange and melon, lively carbonation but not in a coarse way, supple, full and vinous body; soft bready core under this sweet-tart 'grapeyness', with the sweet side accentuated by warming but otherwise well-behaved, sherry-like alcohol, followed by a hop bitter element - contrasting a bit with what preceded, but keeping everything entertaining and surprising. Herbal notes linger along with this bright, yeasty and grapey fruitiness, in a way both delicate and powerful. An absolutely beautiful blend - the grape lambic aspect is nowhere near as dominant as I was expecting, the tartness remains limited and mellow, but still it adds an 'apéritif'-like vinosity and elegance to an otherwise powerful beer. Simply brilliant, so glad I was still able to taste this.

75cl Bottle. Peter H.J got game. Pours cloudy Golden with a White head. Slight gusher. Beware. Slight grapeskins, Wood and a scent of White pepper and barnyard. Elegant. The grapes is not as profound as the previous Dulle Teve experiments but pleasing. Well rounded. 4.4

Bottle at De Dolle. One of 180 produced so well chuffed to land this. Very hazy glowing orange. Solid leggy swede. Looks the beans. Imagine Dulle Teve with grape sorbet mashed up in it that turns out drinking like pop. That’s this. Mad and glorious.
