We set out to design a modern IPA in Mediate. Of course guided by what’s come before, but without allegiance to a particular label. If you had to put it in a box, we suppose it’d be a little West coast. And a little East coast. But mostly No coast.
Unpacking the question — what’s a modern IPA? — we started with what parts of hoppy ales we like best. Maybe combine what we enjoy the most from different styles to make a new composite? Makes sense on paper, but we quickly realized that cherry picking our favorite parts and bundling them felt more Frankenstein than careful design.
Instead, the idea of something we’d like to see kept pulling us in a new direction. So we built a multi-grain grist from local farms around new school, new world hops we wanted to explore. Tangerine, berry, stone fruit, and tropical notes dance atop a defined malt body that’s met with a firm bitterness. Expressive balance.

Lemon and passion fruit. Pours hazy orange with decent fluffy head and pretty good lacing. Soft tangy finish. Soft carbonation. Pleasant hazy. Tap at brewery.
