Elagabalusis one of our Imperial Stouts aged in bourbon barrels. This second batch of Elagabalus is comprised of two components: (1) a stout recipe known as BS1 aged for 30 months in a 15-year 1792 bourbon barrel and (2) a stout recipe known as BS3 aged for 14 months in a Four Roses bourbon barrel. Crafted with American malted barley, a complex assortment of German and British roasted malts, heaps of flaked oats, classic American hops, and our ale yeast, this stout is decadent, silky, and incredibly complex. We taste notes of chocolate fudge, chocolate covered espresso beans, bourbon-soaked vanilla beans, and a hint of coconut. It is named after Elagabalus (204 – 222 CE), who was a member of the Severan dynasty and was known for religious and sex scandals during his reign; he replaced Zeus with Elagabal, who was an Arab-Roman sun god, and married four women. He was also one of the first transgender people documented in history.

Special edition of Elagabalus served on nitro.
