Ease into the nite with this deliciously balanced dark hoppy ale! Hints of chocolate and roasty malt weave together perfectly with the tropical/citrus hops.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: super dark brown close to black in the center with soms lighter hues of dark amber closer to the sides and a two and a half fingers of an off white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big citrusy & piney hops play with a nice clean caramel/toffee maltiness and black coffee & roasted malts, slight dark chocolate in there undeneath
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine bitterweet hoppy to dark & roasty vibe to semi-sweet/bitter chocolatey quality; finishes semi-sweet with the dark chocolate in front of the citrusy hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning to being a sipper; some dryness but also a good smoothness along the tongue:
Overall: the brewer calls this a "dark ale" and sometimes I thought this could have been a CDA and other times maybe a hoppy American porter but for now, yeah I chose "other" on Brewver, it's an odd one but a good one.
