A full-flavoured, medium-bodied red ale, Rickard's features a slight hoppy bitterness balanced with candy-like caramel malt sweetness. Brewed using a signature Munich malt with a touch of brewer's caramel to create a striking, ruby red appearance and a bold, refreshing taste. A perfect complement to grilled meats.

In Montreal Airport as the last beer to cap off a fantastic week at RBSG - I needed to use my last CAD, and had just enough for this. The color is red and it has a small beige head. The aroma is slightly sour combined with notes of berries. The flavor is very sour, but still with some notes of berries, and a dry end. I wonder if brewing cereal has been used in this one.

2005 bottle shared with bucknaked, 4/28/2005. Amber-auburn, clear body with a medium amount of off-white head that recedes fairly quickly to a ring. Smells like rotten red apples dipped in 2 month-old caramel dipping sauce that has sat out and then been microwaved. Or something like that. . .Tastes of cardboard, dry, stale breadiness, stale caramel additives, acrid paperiness. Light body.

Sampled draught. Nut brown. Roasty and very sweet. Sugary and raw with traces of metal. Low bitterness. Useless!

Tap: clear dark brown colored beer with absolutely no head or carbonation. Aroma is very neutral with small traces of malts. Taste is also very neutral with traces of malts. Just another macro beer with no taste whatsoever. Very boring beer.

Amber ale with a bland nose. Sweet malts without too much hops. Some fake caramel taste comes out...a sweeteed EX with some coulouring.

Malt nose. Red color, creamy head. Not really bad, but bland and really boring, a drainpour.

Rich dark amber colour. No head. Aroma of caramel and grains. Initial taste is of nothing. This is followed by a mismatch of water and brewer’s caramel. Cloying and watery don’t jive, dude. Harsh carbonation. Ghastly canned corn and caramel finish. Heavable. Exemplifies Oakes’ Rule of Beer #1 - if a beer has mountains on the label and isn’t brewed in the mountains, it will suck.
