Yuengling® is proud to offer our Oktoberfest as an homage to our German Heritage. A true representation of the style, Oktoberfest is a blend of Tettnang and Hallertau hops. Copper in color, this medium-bodied beer is the perfect blend of roasted malts with just the right amount of hops that serves up a slightly-sweet, toasted character and mild herbal bitterness.

Draft. Amber with orange highlights. Frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, biscuit, brown sugar, earthiness. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Bread and caramel taste similar to Yeungling lager. Bland. Slightly grainy.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, bottled on 7/29/2016. Pours crystal clear deep orange.copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Some light yeast fruitiness as well. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Minimal herbal/spicy hop and toasted malt bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Fairly clean on lager flavors; some fruitiness in the aromas, but minimal in the taste. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.45%. Overall this is a very good Oktoberfest style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very malty and flavorful for the ABV, with just enough hops for balance. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Plain nose. A bit of brown bread, caramel, some minerals, and a bit of candy. A touch of peach comes out later. Amber-orange, clear, with a low, fine head. Plain, thin, fruity flavor, a bit of apple, caramel, bread, minerally hops. Drinkable but a bit watery.

Bottle from that packie across the border. Deep golden color smallish white head. Smells a bit like the regular stuff, but maybe a bit sweeter. Nothing to go out of your way for here.

Pours clear caramel brown with decent, brief head. Faint malt aroma, bland watery slightly sweet malt with clean finish. Not a beer that stands on its own, it needs to be paired with sone food having a lot more character than it does.
