Reviewed from notes. Growler purchased 03/29/2018 and consumed on 03/30/2018.
Poured into a tulip.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, subtle mineral water/briney, black coffee and a light dark malty backbone
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine salty to roasty and lightly sweet quality; finishes chocolatey, semi-salty and subtle coffee-ish
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable? hmmmm, eh, nah, I think this one leans closer to being a sipper as plenty of saltiness and roastiness seems to weigh on the tongue a bit more than expected as it balances to the suggested ABV
Overall: I liked this one for me but it does make me wonder what others think of this one, I bet the kids these days won't like this.
