Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear golden color, medium to full sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, some smoke, some bitter, some fruityness. Not bad at all, quite a nice smoked beer.

Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - meadow flowers going into custard. The peat is very subtle. More of a nuance than a note. Taste - as with the nose, peat is subtle. Quite biscuity. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - enjoyed this though was apprehensive re big peaty notes beforehand.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: pours orange with a creamy head. Aroma is peat and biscuit. Taste is smoky of course. However it is not that smoky and the light ale backbone shines through. Not bad. Interesting.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of peat, smoke, whisky and crème caramel. Flavour of wood smoke, lightly roasted malt and peat. Thin body with a light, oily texture. Soft fizz. A really interesting beer. Not sure if I would have it again though.
