Lewis and Clark’s 1805-1806 expedition took them past the many creeks that flow into the Bitterroot River each spring, among them Sawtooth Creek. Bitter Root Brewing’s blonde ale is made from the finest pale malt and hops available. The addition of malted rye and wheat give this beer a crisp, dry flavor. It’s a national medal winner, and a year round favorite.

Sample during the ElkMoose Me, But Why Is Your Glass MT? event on 07/10/2020. Clear golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of malt, grassy hop and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of mild grassy hop, roast malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Cam from MarCellars. Golden pour with towering fluffy head. And that was the best part... Sweet, grainy aroma. Even more sweetness in the taste, lemons, honey. Dies after that, but feels somewhat creamy.

Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is mildly bready, rye, citrus. Med body (lots of frothy carbonation). Starts bitter. Flavor matches aroma - but stronger. Rye becomes quite noticeable with repeated quaffs. Drinkable.
