This is a west coast style originating in San Francisco by Anchor Brewing Co. It typically is fermented with lager yeast that does well at moderate temperatures, but we ferment cool using ale yeast to achieve a similar crisp clean taste. It is unique in its use of U.S. Northern Brewer hops having a minty/woody quality that when combined with a simple malt bill produces an interestingly refreshing brew.

Draft at the source. Clear yellow color, massive off white head with great retention and solid lacing. Nice earthy aroma. Taste is bitter, slightly dank, peppery. Tasty. Nice to see this style.

Slight bitter barley finish. Pours golden with good head and lacing, comes together very well. Tap at Brewpub.

Draft at the source. Poured a light hazy coper color, with a large white head. Aroma was some caramel notes, malt forward. Some light citrus, fruit, lots of malt. Slightly crisp, floral and slight citrus hop notes.
