By popular demand, our summertime seasonal is no longer filtered and has been permanently converted to a full-blown Bavarian-style Hefeweizen! A unique strain of yeast produces banana-like ester flavors up front and phenolic clove, spicy notes in the background. Brewed with half barley malt and half white wheat malt and hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh hops.

Rubber, lemon, and fusel alcohol nose. Hazy amber, medium head. Bready flavor, banana and lemon underneath. Plastic notes. Lemongrass finish. Enjoyable, but as something in between Am wheat and hefeweizen.

Corked bottle. Banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large white head. Mildly sweet banana/orange, clove and light wheat malt flavor. Body a bit light. Very good - would have be excellent with more malt flavor.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium creamy offwhite head. Decent head retention and nice lacing. Aroma of citrus, clove, caramel and bubblegum. The taste is big clove notes, caramel, citrus, a faint bit of bubblegum and mild hops in the finish. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Nice.

Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a very cloudy orange color... almost murky. Large head with good head retention and lacing. Aroma is very bready with clove, banana and citrus. Taste is creamy and bready, light clove and citrus. Bitter hoppy finish. Light on the tongue. Medium bodied.
Another rerate... this time of the Blue Mountain Barrel House Weizen, which is a tweak on the Rockfish Wheat recipe. Pours a hazy golden color with a large fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of wheat, caramel and clove. The taste is spicy clove, citrus, wheat, apple, caramel. Medium bodied, soft texture, slight lingering spice, well balanced. Nice. 7/3/8/4/15

On tap at the brewpub on 04/19/2009. Cloudy, almost murky, orange body with a large rocky off-white head. Sweet banana and clove flavor with some grassy hop kick in the background. Light body with moderate carbonation.
