By popular demand, our summertime seasonal is no longer filtered and has been permanently converted to a full-blown Bavarian-style Hefeweizen! A unique strain of yeast produces banana-like ester flavors up front and phenolic clove, spicy notes in the background. Brewed with half barley malt and half white wheat malt and hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh hops.

.75l big bottle. Cloudy yellow otange white head. Decent enough esters and banana but something off about this - watery and not right. Oh and the cork said best by march 2013. Really useful....after you bought and opened already.

12 oz. bottle thanks to weihenweizen. Best By date: 8- 2015. Very murky orange color, damn near brown color. Aroma has more orange/ citrus then banana. Light sweet malt tones.

The flavor is much like the aroma with the citrus being a lot larger and subdues the banana, bubblegum like notes. Slightly sour notes in the finish. Body is medium with soft carbonation. American side of of the style rather than German. The slightly sour hint throws it just a bit off for me.

Hazy copper and light bronzed coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, herbs, yeast and bunches of wheat - pungent! Medium-bodied; Assertive curacao and lemon flavours with a good note of wheat, coriander seed and some bready yeast, but the wheat is really refreshing here. Aftertaste is a touch one-dimensional with the wheat and yeast the only things really showcased, but good for them is that they are good and show off very nicely. Overall, a nice german style wheat that doesn’t look so great, but tastes and finishes very nicely, a good addition to the Virginia brewery lineup! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-May-2015 for US$2,24 (bottle is dated to enjoy by 08-2015) sampled at home in Washington on 13-June-2015.

Split a 750ml Barrel House label bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with a light, mostly white head. aroma was wheat, some clove and spice notes, a touch of banana. Flavor was some spice, banana, cloves, and plenty of wheat. Decent.

Mostly clear dark yellow with an average white head. Mild esters, some banana, not much clove. The flavor is lightly sweet, not much here for a hefe. Thin watery.
