The Sabaja IPA is the first of its kind in Kosovo. This ale focuses on the floral and citrus characters of a balanced combination of American and Slovenian hops. The IPA's bitter backbone is balanced by a light sweetness. The IPA is light gold in color, with hits of copper at its core. It features subdued fruit esters in the aroma, and a clean finish on the palate.

Again, past BB date, and will be rerated. Thanks Matt, Alberto, Milan and Andrej! :D Poured a dark murky/misty amber body with a small head. Initially a plastic-like yeastiness hit me, but it was thankfully gone immediately, leaving some honeyish maltiness there. Honeyish taste with some citric notes going into a solid herbal bitterness in the finish and the aftertaste. Hmm... probably fine enough fresh.

On tap from the source, namely the Sabaja pub in Pristina-Kosovo. Reportedly a fresh batch. Pours intense golden color, almost amber a bit cloudy with a medium-small off-white head (some lacing). Nose: hidden grassy notes. Mouth: medium carbonation, weak body, some bitterness. Inoffensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

5/XII/14 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ home - BB: 22/II/15 (2014-1462) Thanks to Markoijelena for the trade!
Little cloudy deep orange to amber beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity start, some citrus, sweet malts, quite some peaches, bit of band-aid, but only slightly. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citric start, pretty fruity, some pineapple, bit of an off-flavour, band-aid, chemical, but easily overpowered by more fruity hops. Aftertaste: nice bitterness, pretty fruity, citrus, bit of pineapple, little sourish, soft sweet caramel malts in the finish as well. Well done, this tastes promising!

Bottle (courtesy of Travlr - huge thanks). Orange malt and pine/grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with large off white head. Sweet light orange malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Not as hoppy as most US version but pleasant and overall a very nice beer.

Draft at the source. Cloudy variegated golden yellow color, bright fluffy white head with fair retention and solid lacing. Nice aroma of orange, pineapple, grapefruit. Taste is fruity and moderately bitter with light lemon and a sweet malt backbone. Tastier on draft than in the bottle.

Bottled at Sabaja Drs Beer House, Prishtina. Cloudy deep golden, rich but brief head. Fruity nose with some grapefruit. Sweetish with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Fruity with some crystal malt character and mid bitter finish. A relatively careful IPA, but by all likeliness the best IPA in a good radius... Heads up to a very interesting upstart brewery!
