Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a large creamy bright white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was musty and lactic with tart lemon and yogurt. The flavor was tart and tangy lemon, lactic, yogurt and salt. Long finish. Medium body. Solid.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Superstar - Melville, 10/17/14

Aroma: The nose of this beer is wheat/spice, some lemon, and a bit of sweetness
Appearance: It pours a murky looking yellow-gold with a small, fizzy white head
Flavor: The tartness really comes out in the flavor, there's wheat/spice, and a mild sweetness
Palate: The body is fairly light, with a lively carbonation, and it has a rather tart finish to the feel
Overall Impression: This is a decent Berliner, but not an amazing example of the style. It is still plenty flavorful though at such a low ABV. Solid.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks zvikar. Hazy pale yellow. Slightly weak aroma with yeast, lemon, grains, bread, some fruitiness and a bit of yogurt notes. Sourish flavor with graininess, lemon, some yogurt, bread, light sweetness, fruitiness. Light-bodied. Very mild but nice and refreshing.

Bottle - Funky citrus and grass with a salty sourness. Cloudy pale yellow with a thin almost nonexistent head. Very light citrus, funk and a slight sour finish. Very light, but refreshing.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma is lemon and tart funk. Taste is sour and citric. Very acidic in general. Slightly sweet. Plenty of body for low alcohol. Not the best Berliner, but this was nice and refreshing.

Pours pale yellow into a bowl. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Dusty wheat and citrus aromas. Tart with lemon upfront turning to marshmallow before the medium length watery citrus finish. Refreshing.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Pale straw with a tightly packed white head; sour grainy aroma; tart appley fruit taste, clean and refreshing; and a lingering sour finish. My first try of the style, so I can’t judge how close this is to the real Berlin style, but it’s certainly different and refreshing.

Draft at ChurchKey. Pours a bright hazy yellow color with off-white, slightly fizzy head. Aromas was tart lemon notes, sweet fruit. Tart lacto notes, lemon, lime, fruits. Pretty tasty - not the best berliner I had that night, but pretty good! Newyorkweisse?
